Geoff has abandoned us......so I guess I need to pick up the slack?

Oh Hi!
It's been a while and I'm starting to feel guilty that I haven't posted anything on here. With Geoff doing his 365 project he has forgotten about us. He has some great photos and I had one real gem that I felt the need to share with ya'll.

I took this photo so he can't get all huffy about it.....

My little nephew Max turned 1 this week and I can't believe what a little man he is. We went down to Eugene for the night to celebrate in style and got to spend some time with the little man.

Geoff was great with him! I wasn't feeling up to my usual self so trying to keep up with a 1 year old wasn't high on my to do list so Geoff spent a good portion of the evening entertaining him while Lori tried to make Max's birthday cakes.
This picture pretty much sums up how Geoff is with him and Max loves his Uncle Geoff.

Here are some other random photos since I have neglected this for so long :D

O HAI!

Oh, hey, Internet, it's me. Bruce Campbell.

Geoff and Katie are hanging out being lazy good-for-nothing's today. So I thought I'd upload some of their photos that have been left on their camera.

If Geoff were here, he'd probably have something witty to say about each of them, but I'm just a cat.

I don't really care that much about pithiness.

According to Geoff this is a guy named Mac Carruth. He's a goalie for the Portland Winterhawks hockey team, who are in the playoffs or something. Geoff went to Winterhawks practice a few weeks ago and hung out with the players for a story he wrote. There were some TV news people there, too, who had a quick interview with Carruth about the playoffs as he was on his way out the door.  Geoff snapped a quick pic.

Katie and Geoff spent some time with little baby Max a few weeks ago, and Katie (as usual) took a billion photos. This was my favorite, so I put it up. Geoff and Katie had others they liked but, you know, they're good-for-nothings so it was up to the ol' BC to pick the photos.

This week Geoff wrote a story about a Chinese food restaurant that's closing after almost 60 years in business. The woman on the left is one of the owners, and daughter of the restaurant's founder. The woman on the right is Greta Helmer, a waitress at the restaurant who has worked there for 46 years.

They looked over some old newspaper clippings about the restaurant and talked about the good ol' days, including a fire that burned the restaurant to the ground in the '60s.

This is a fish. Geoff brought him home the other day. I want him. Oooooh how I want him.

Geoff calls him Robert, or something. But I call him Dinner.

Geoff sprays me with a water bottle when I try to eat him, but Geoff goes back to work tomorrow.

He will be mine, oh yes, he will be mine.

Max-a-palooza

A couple of weeks ago my sister, her mother-in-law, and I threw a baby shower for my other sister, Lori. (As you, of course, remember Lori had her baby a few weeks ago).

(Oh? Don't remember. You might want to click here and here).

Anyway.

Max's room is all about Dr. Suess, so I thought what better theme for the party than that.

Well, from there it just spiraled out of control. There was just too many cute things we could do with the theme. Here are just some of the photos from that awesome day.....

We had special guest stars...

... an awesome homemade cake that my friend Megan and I made. (I know, you're jealous. It's white cake with a raspberry filling.) Yum.

A Tree of Cheese, yes, you read that correctly.

Some Dr. Seussian sandwiches...

the obligatory Green Eggs and Ham

and, of course,

the Guest of Honor:

His look may say he's bored, but I know inside he's as giddy as a kid at Disneyland.

We also had a "photo booth" of sorts where everyone took a photowith Lori so she could look back on the day. Needless to say, I have at least one for every guest, way more than I could post. If I can get my act together I might do a part 2 with some of the others :)

Enjoy!

For those of you who don't know already....

My family is crazy....

 Like, really crazy.

No, seriously :

But we love them!

Even some of our non-family members joined in on the craziness.

Max update

As promised. Max pictures have arrived.

Not sure what I'm talking about? Check the link, fool!

(For those not in the know, you might want to catch up)

So according to what I've been told from Katie, whose down there, Max popped out right in the nick of time. It looks like everyone is doing well and Max and Mom could be going home today (or tomorrow, so doctors can keep an eye on little Max).

Anyway, that's not what you came here for. I know that.

Fine. HERE'S your precious BABY PHOTOS

I believe this expression is known as the " 'Sup, balla?"

Grandma and Max.

You can probably expect more from Katie later on today or tonight, because let's face it:

Katie + Camera + small babies = about 8 million photos.

...You know what I just realized? This guy was BORN in 2011. He'll look back at the 2000s in the same way that I think of the 1980s and 1970s. You know. Dinosaur times.

My god I'm old.

Hey, want to see what a grainy baby looks like?

Because man, have I found one!

UPDATE: Katie came through with some photos. Check them out!

Calm down, Mom, it's OK. You're not a grandmother.

Everyone meet Max Dunnihoo, officially the newest member of the Rappinger clan. He's my... uh... nephew-in-law? I guess? I dunno. Whatever. He's here now, about 4 weeks early, but here none-the-less.

Katie and I were woken by a frantic phone call at about 6 a.m. this morning, saying to get our butts to Eugene! With Katie's mom on vacation in Texas and unable to get to her, we're the closest relatives in about 150 miles to get down there.

Unfortunately this thing called work (and a fairly hefty cold) kept me from going and infecting Max, but Katie's doing her sisterly duty and (blogger that she is) made sure to take her camera with her.

...Of course this photo wasn't TAKEN with that camera, it looks like it was taken with someone's phone, and I found it online somewhere, but I'm sure that she's going to have photos a-plenty to update later.

(Right, Katie? You turned off your phone and won't call me back so here's hoping you read this:
TAKE PICS! THE PEOPLE DEMAND IT!)

With Katie gone, my camera gone, and nobody wanting to return my calls, I've done what any good resourceful Internet-crazy 20something would do, and taken to Facebook for photos and updates.

Here's what I found:

Max'n'Mom
Le Family Dunnihoo

Also, specifics. I know nothing about babies or baby related measurements, so I have no idea if these are good or not. I assume they're fine...

    Max Dunnihoo
  • 6 lbs. 6 oz.
  • 19 inches
  • Full head of hair
  • Mom and baby seem to be doing fine.

If and when I get more info I'll update, or Katie will, or somebody will.

DANG IT, KATIE, YOUR MAKING THIS LOOK LIKE SOME TWO BIT OPERATION!
